Telephone Invention Anniversary
March 10 marks the 136th anniversary of the world's first phone call. The location: Boston. The players: Alexander Graham Bell, age 29, and his assistant, Mr. Watson. Says Bell's journal from March 10, 1876: "I then shouted into M [the mouthpiece] the following sentence: 'Mr. Watson, come here – I want to see you.' To my delight he came and declared that he had heard and understood what I said."
