Senior population growth (2000 to 2010): 42 percent
Provo is home to Brigham Young University, which isone of the country’s largest private universities, and  at least seven other post-secondary schools. The city has seven medical centers, three of which received the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s recognition as Magnet hospitals for their high quality of care. It also has a very low crime rate and one of the highest rates of volunteers per capita. A report from the Milken Institute rated Provo the best city for aging, out of the 100 most populous metro areas.
