Switzerland - Group E
For the past few World Cups, the Swiss team has largely been the tough obstacle that other teams had to overcome…but usually did. This year is a bit different. With young players Xherdan Shaqiri and Josip Drmic both having exceptional seasons in the German league, the offensive holes in this squad (sorry, had to make a cheese joke) seem to have been filled. Particularly given the group, the Swiss have a decent hope of making it to the knockout stage.
Players to watch: Drmic and Shaqiri will provide the goals, while captain Gokhan Inler will lay a defensive groundwork in midfield.
Prediction: Depending on the strength of the South American teams in their group, could make it to the Round of 16.
