26 Fall Movies To Draw You Back to the Big Screen

Inherent Vice (December 12)
Paul Thomas Anderson is another director to come out of the ‘90s Auteur Movement with his head held high. From Boogie Nights to The Master, Anderson is one of America’s best directors, and it’s exciting to think what he could do with an author like Thomas Pynchon (who either surprisingly or totally unsurprisingly has never before been adapted for the screen). Adding to the thrill is Anderson’s statement that he would be shooting for a similar vibe as Robert Altman’s oddball Raymond Chandler adaptation The Long Goodbye. If Anderson can capture the same heady mix of film noir and California hippy weirdness, audiences will be in for a treat.
