For Those Who Love Dark Adaptations
Gone Girl (October 3)
For the past two decades, David Fincher has been one of America’s best directors, particularly when it comes to examining the dark corners of the human psyche, whether they belong to serial killers, congressmen or Mark Zuckerberg. With his adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s immensely popular thriller, he returns from his House of Cards victory lap to the big screen. The only caveat is that Fincher’s last attempt to adapt a popular, dark novel was the little loved and slightly sour American version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
