The longest-serving First Lady of the United States, Roosevelt was once called the “First Lady of the World” by President Harry Truman for her human rights achievements. Controversial for her outspokenness, Roosevelt campaigned for more roles for women in the workplace and for the civil rights of African Americans and Asian Americans.
