South Korea on Wednesday (August 19) staged a nationwide civil defence drill, called the annual Ulchi Exercise, where they hope to prepare the general public for all possible emergencies. The Ulchi Exercise is run in parallel with the annual Ulchi Freedom Guardian (UFG) exercise, where both South Korean and U.S. forces also hold joint military drills. The UFG began on Monday and it will continue until August 28.
