Boosting Productivity Through Chat
Forget Skype, Gchat and ordinary texts. Messaging app Slack keeps all your work conversations in a single place and makes them searchable. It’s also accessible from all of your devices and can integrate with over 900,000 programs, including Google Drive, Twitter and Giphy. So far, 1.1 million users are Slacking off, up from 500,000 in February. The company was recently valued at $2.8 billion and makes $25 million per year in revenue.
MIT Technology Review is hailing Slack as “the new water cooler” for its ability to transform the way coworkers connect and collaborate. Airbnb, BuzzFeed, eBay, Expedia, The Wall Street Journal and The Fiscal Times are among the companies that have signed up.
