4. Fort Lauderdale
Although the city used to be referred to as “Fort Liquordale” due to its popularity with college students, the city has actively worked to make itself more family-friendly in recent years. Now the city is more known for its palm-fringed beaches and more than 300 miles of inland waterways.
Throughout the month of March last year, median hotel rates remained steady at around $187 a night. Rates began dropping near the end of April to around $144 a night. The city boasted the lowest median airfare of all 10 spring break destinations at $262.
