Teen Pregnancy
Last February, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
announced that the birth rate for U.S. teenagers hit its lowest level ever reported since the government started collecting data nearly 70 years ago – and the declines were across all adolescent age, racial, and ethnic groups. The CDC cites studies suggesting that strong teen pregnancy prevention messages have helped teen sexual activity decline or level off in the 1990s through the mid-2000s, and contraceptive use increase or stabilize.
