Angelo Mozilo
Angelo Mozilo received $44 million in severance after stepping down as chairman and CEO of Countrywide Financial, the mortgage origination company he founded in 1969. Countrywide eventually became known as the poster child for the worst of the subprime lending practices, but not before it was bought up by Bank of America.
