Ivory Coast has become the most impressive of the African nations in the Cup. As a former French colony, the country’s youth program has been consistently raided by the prestigious Clairefontaine academy looking for players that were both athletic and skillful. The result has been largely to the benefit of the Ivory Coast.
Players to watch: At 36 years old, Didier Drogba has been a goal machine for so long, it’s hard to imagine him not turning it back on one last time. Swansea’s Wilfred Bony provides a promising understudy, while in Yaya Toure, the IC has a man many consider to be the best midfielder in the world.
