Why You Should Watch – In an effort to appear more cultural, Springfield hosts a film festival (providing a crossover plug for another Fox primetime cartoon, The Critic), accepting entries from the town’s residents. Desperate to be loved, town despot Mr. Burns hires a ringer director (Senior Spielbergo) to try to steal the main prize. In the end, it goes to “Man Getting Hit in Groin by Football.”
Classic Moment – I’d like to give it to Barney Gumble’s heart-wrenching ode to alcoholism, “Don’t cry for me, I’m already dead,” but “Man Getting Hit in Groin by Football” has a man getting hit in the groin.
