Why You Should Watch - By the show’s fifth season, The Simpsons was a big enough phenomenon that episodes could become gleefully self-referential. The show's initial fame (and infamy) had centered on irreverent oldest son Bart, but gradually it became clear that this was Homer’s show. This show examines its early days with an episode in which Bart becomes famous on the back of a stupid catch phrase, but discovers that fame can be very limiting.
