For Those Who Want to See Steve Carrell Try Something Different

Director Bennett Miller follows his successes with Moneyball and Capote with another true life story, this time of the murder of Olympic champion wrestler Dave Schultz by paranoid multimillionaire John du Pont. Though Miller won Best Director at the Cannes Film Festival, it is the performance of an almost unrecognizable Steve Carrell as du Pont that has garnered the most attention. Even in his unctuous role on The Office, Carrell has always had an innate likability, so to see him play an odious character will be worth the price of a ticket.
