Martha Washington
The very first First Lady appeared on the $1 Silver Certificate between 1891 and 1896, making her the last woman to appear on U.S. paper currency. She helped keep up morale among the officers during the American Revolutionary War with her husband and hosted various affairs of state once George Washington assumed the presidency.
