Bringing Baby on Board
Infants under the age of two who sit in a parent’s lap have long flown for free — and while they still do on domestic flights, now many major airlines, U.S. Airways and American Airlines included, are charging an international lap fee. That means moms and dads are now charged an additional 10 percent of a full ticket fare (meaning the current unrestricted fare the day of the purchase) to bring baby on board.
