12. Ghostbusters (July 15, Sony Pictures)
A great deal of fuss was generated when the cast for this reboot was announced. After literally decades of trying to get the original cast to reunite, the sad passing of Harold Ramis ended that possibility. Once a reboot was decided upon, it was announced that the new Ghostbusters would be all women. For some, this was a huge sticking point. Others were bothered by the specific cast, wishing for edgier comedians rather than safe SNL choices. But some grace was granted when original cast member and our benevolent overlord Bill Murray agreed to appear in the film. At the end of the day, no one will care about any of these controversies if the movie is funny.
